Elmcrest offers a variety of tennis
opportunities for junior players.

Summer

Junior Tennis Camp:

June 4-8, 9:00-12 p.m.

The camp is geared towards tournament players and those who may be ready to move on to that level. We will do very little stroke work during the camp. Most of the drills will involve running/moving and hitting. Patterns and strategy will be key components of the instruction for students. Each camp participant will receive a t-shirt. Cost for the camp is $200.00.

Junior Tournament Trips:

This summer we will also be taking juniors to USTA sanctioned tournaments! We encourage any and all students to participate in USTA tournaments, especially if they wish to become more competitive. A junior may earn an Iowa ranking by simply participating in 4 USTA sanctioned events and by winning one first round match. Earning a ranking is a great achievement and can help develop confidence in a junior of any age! Spencer will be heading up these trips and will provide transportation, support, coaching and counseling to all participants. Cost of each trip is $60 a day (Participants will need to bring their own money for meals).

USTA Junior Tennis League and Meets:

Elmcrest will participate in the city-wide USTA National Junior Tennis League and will be an official USTA site. This tennis event will involve a doubles league on Tuesdays and meets with other city teams. All players receive a free t-shirt. League cost is $48.00 for 8 weeks and begins June 16. 12:00-1:00 p.m. beginner; 1:00-2:00 p.m. advanced beginner; 2:00-3:00 intermediate; 3:00-4:00 p.m. advanced.

Boy's and Girl's Club: Free tennis clinics for all enrolled participants in Boy's and Girl's Club.

Singles ladder matches are run by our computer. Cost is $35. All ladders begin in early June.
